Who am I?
I was born in 'S-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands in the year of 93. During my chilhood I was always passionate about nature. I would enjoy being outside looking for animals or building huts in the forest. My passion and love for the flora and fauna always stayed with me. I think it was my 14th birthday were I got my first camera. I was so excited with it cause I could finally capture all the cool stuff I saw, here it all started. And ofcourse like a 14 year old my photography was not the best to say it in a modest way. But I was enjoying it and exploring photography. Since then I never really let go of it and it only became more and better.
I started a study called Ecology&Wildlife in the Netherlands. This study was really diverse but it's main focus was flora&fauna suprisingly. Next to this there was a lot of focus on education as well wich I had an interest in. I would like to be able to do education about nature throughout my photography.
Why did I choose for this study and not photography?
My autodidactism is pretty high also since I started photography at a young age. I have a love for both nature and photography. I did not go for photography cause I did not want to be guided in certain ways and rules of how you should and shouldn't do it. Also I thought if I will be able to understand nature beter, I will be able to capture it better.
My photography.
Like I said before I always kept on going with photography. My first camera was a Canon on film. After that I had a Pentax DSR that I had for a really long period. Nowadays I am shooting with a Sony Alpha 77II with one short lens 17-70mm and one zoom 150-600mm.
If I personally need to describe my own style of photography. It will always have a slight zinge of darkness or curiosity. I try to capture moments and want the viewer of my photographs to be taken with me to that place and to that moment. I want to show the beauty, cause in my opinion beauty is in everything.
I already did different jobs in photography. I did a few wedding shoots. But I also made photographs for Auckland zoo to use on there social media. I am very proud to say that I was in a photography competition at New Zealand Fashion Week 2016. I did not win but being part of it did open my eyes more and gave me a lot of new inspiration.
Currently I'm travelling the globe, where I started of in New Zealand for a year and now in Australia. Next country will probably be Nepal. This makes it harder for me to stay online on my social media etc. but I keep on doing it when I can.
If there any questions just send an email or even message me on my instagram.
